The afPE validator highlighted the following strengths from our application: Outstanding leadership of PESSPA from the headteacher and subject leader, who are passionate about the impact of PESSPA.
An excellent broad range of activities provided for all students to participate with an expectation that all pupils will be physically active each day, which probably equates to at least 5 hours per week. Delivered by well qualified, motivated staff.
An excellent curriculum which allows all students, at all levels, to gain a PE/Sport related qualification, which has seen year 11 students gaining admission to higher education to study sport related courses.
PESSPA is an integral part of the schools ‘Golden thread champions’ which underpins the whole school curriculum and the values of- Confidence, Independence, Empowerment, Well- being & Achievement.
